Three months ago, on June 3rd, under the waxing mo Three months ago, on June 3rd, under the waxing moon in Scorpio, I had the honor to roar our sweet daugther SARA LUNA into this world. The way I had deeply wished for: vaginally and without any drugs. I am forever grateful for having experienced this VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean). It was the most amazing thing I have ever done. It was nothing short of EPIC, deeply healing and has changed me profoundly. In all the big and small ways. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and see a different woman. Something has changed. A light in my eyes, a knowing, an understanding, and trust, that hasn‘t been there before. Now almost 14 weeks after, I am still processing. But a feeling that came absolutely clearly to me ever since: Women are epic creatures. No matter how we birth. No matter if we even have or want children. But just because we are women and have this innate ability to create within our beautiful wombs. Ideas, projects, art, babies. WE ARE MAGIC. We are so deeply connected to the great mother, to the creative life force of the planet and the universe, simply by being women. It’s absolutely magic and powerful. And everything that is connected to it, like our menstrual cycle. And for that, women should be honored and celebrated. Every. Single. Long time, very long no see! I am happy to finally Long time, very long no see! I am happy to finally give you a little life update. As some of you already might have noticed: I haven’t been active on here for the last few months. This was a conscious decision. I have been feeling the need to retreat for a while already and there’s a very good and beautiful reason for it: 🎉 My womb is currently busy creating another human being 😍💫✨ We are 28 weeks in and are beyond happy to welcome this new little soul in our arms in early summer. So, at the moment, everything I want to do is to retreat and bring my energy back to myself, my family, and my own projects. I’m very happy about all the steps and decisions I have been taking over the last few months. I feel like I’m growing a lot thanks to this little baby in my womb. He/she is challenging me to (finally!) bring my life force back to myself. And I can tell you: This is a HUGE step for me (you know, being a recovering good girl and all, being more concerned about the needs of others than mine). This means, I will only be on here very sporadically this year. I might post something here and there, I might not. I let my womb guide me. AND I’m having a huge print sale this month (GET 40% OFF OF ALL PRINTS AND STICKERS!), since my shop will be running on a very reduced level from April on for the time being (only my digital downloads and merch products will stay available). For a little context: I started painting her a few days after I got my eyes lasered almost one year ago. Little peek at this finished gouache piece THE SIG Little peek at this finished gouache piece THE SIGHT. I started this painting last year, right after Christmas. During a time when I had to keep my eyes away from screens as much as possible because I got them lasered right after the winter solstice. To help me through the process of healing, I went on a self-guided visual journey within. What I experienced on this journey, was deep and powerful and this painting is reflecting exactly that. An elderly woman, a shaman, a healer, a medicine woman, equipped me with a new pair of eyes. Water magic and snake energy were involved, also prayers, and the knowing of being held, a feeling of being safe and taken care of. It was deep and beautiful. I still remember this meditation as if I experienced it yesterday. The power of visualization, imagination and guided meditation is what I work with in my Creatrix Sessions. I’m holding these creative and relaxing evenings with a small group of women. And what the guided journeys and intuitive creativity are gifting to us, is truly miraculous, deep, and wonderful. Creating a Wild Woman Portrait always brings me a Creating a Wild Woman Portrait always brings me a lot of joy. My intention is to capture a wild, pure and true essence of the woman I portray. To intuitively SEE HER in her power, beauty, and authenticity and channel this energy into my creation. I “receive” the pieces very intuitively. Often I already get an idea when I am on a call with the woman herself or with a close person of hers who wants to gift the painting to her. But also as often, the painting needs some time to reveal itself to me. Over the years, I learned to trust this creative process. The time the painting needs to be conceived, gestated, and then finally be born and created. I’ve only just realized (thanks to my beautiful friend and coach @movejulie), that not only the main theme of my art is the wild feminine, but also the way I function and how I create is very feminine. So I am in the process of even more deeply embracing the wild feminine within myself and my creative practice. This piece I had the honor to create for a 15-year young woman. Her mother commissioned it for her birthday. What a special gift to honor this important and beautiful initiatory phase of a growing woman.
